When reflecting on your time at school, it’s easy to recall the facilities, the exam results, or the structure of the curriculum. But what truly stays with you are the intangibles—the values, the culture, the character, and the spirit of a place. These are the qualities that define an experience, that shape lifelong memories, and that make a school more than just a collection of classrooms.

At Kingswood House, one word has always risen above the rest: believe. It’s the foundation of our ethos—the belief in every child’s potential. We know it works, because to believe is to have hope, and hope is the key to happiness.

That belief is what made Kingswood House special to you. It’s why class sizes remained small, ensuring that every child was known and valued. It’s why the school was capped at 275 pupils, so that personal connections remained strong. It’s why we welcomed pupils through a ‘cab rank’ approach—no barriers, no 11+ exam, just the simple question: can we offer the right education for this child? If the answer was yes, then they had a place.

Whether you remember your days in the classroom or on the sports field, working hard or having fun, the core ethos remained unchanged: we believed in education’s power to transform lives. You learned to believe in yourself, in your ability to make a difference, no matter your individual strengths or challenges. And, perhaps most importantly, you were surrounded by teachers who cared—who believed in you.
